“In my previous life I worked in a highly competitive, fast-paced corporate environment that drained my energy and encouraged bad lifestyle habits. I was unconscious and numb to my internal world, and after suffering through a series of life events I took the drastic step of changing my life to become a yoga teacher. What was I thinking?!

But I intrinsically knew this was the path. My internal drive to build a life filled with compassion, health, peace and community was ignited. I discovered a world of yoga beyond studios; people who required greater assistance in their physical, emotional and mental support than I could offer in a busy public setting. Private Yoga Brisbane was born organically, with students requesting private classes with their friends, businesses and building managers asking for corporate yoga sessions, schools seeking wellness programs for teens … and so we continue to grow each year and nurture our yoga community.

For me, yoga is a path to peace and freedom. Where we learn to trust & accept our authentic self, not the one society & culture enforces. Through the practice of yoga we develop non-attachment to outcomes & desires, generate self discipline, and learn to regulate our emotions to develop self mastery and efficacy.

If you just want to stretch your hamstrings, fine… we can do that. But if you seek deeper understanding, then roll out your mat and let the journey begin.”

  • Yoga is more than stretching, it is an ancient practice that integrates and balances the body & mind through breathwork, postures, meditation and mindfulness. A regular yoga practice improves your overall fitness, mobility and strength whilst cultivating positive self thoughts. Through slow, controlled movements both your mind & body recalibrate, bringing your nervous system back into equilibrium. You will feel improved sleep, mental clarity and physical freedom even after one class.

  • If you have an injury or illness, are in recovery, prefer the security of your own space or require a specific focus to support your needs, than a private yoga instructor will ensure you receive the correct education & additional care. Private yoga gives you the freedom to progress at your own pace in the style and time frame that works for you. It is the true tradition of yoga instruction.

  • That is why you practice yoga (and you’ve probably got long legs)! Yoga will lengthen and strengthen your muscles and connective tissue, teach your how to regulate your nervous system and control the chatter of your mind. Yoga is for every body, and our instructors are highly experienced in anatomy, physiology and kinetics. Simply get in touch with us to chat, your toes are only a step away.
